Description

This research bundle contains three lyophilized peptides commonly studied in laboratory models of mitochondrial function:

  • SS-31 (Elamipretide): A synthetic tetrapeptide (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH₂) designed to localize to the inner mitochondrial membrane and interact with cardiolipin. It is used in published research examining electron transport chain organization, mitochondrial membrane potential, and bioenergetics. Note: Research-grade SS-31 is not the FDA-approved Forzinity (elamipretide) product, which is indicated only for a specific Barth syndrome use under accelerated approval.
  • MOTS-c: A 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded in the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. It is investigated in cell culture and animal models for its interactions with AMPK signaling and metabolic pathways.
  • Humanin: A 24-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded in the mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene. It is studied in research models of cytoprotection and cellular stress responses.
